Binary Clock: Can You Tell the Time? | |
It is fascinating to watch people who do not
realize that the changing LED patterns on this clock face do in fact show
the time: "Well... Maybe it's a clock?" "Yup, you are getting there!" "But what time is it?" http://lmgtfy.com/?q=bin%C3%A4ruhr Circuit diagrams for such clocks can be found on the Internet, here for example: http://pitts-electronics-home.de/electron/schpluhr.htm Since the circuit board layout exceeded the 40 mm maximal travel of my MF70 CNC mill, I designed a new PC board for surface mount components. The PCB real estate was pretty tight, but a 10° engraving bit is well suited for isolation routing of such small traces. |

This is how the clock looks after I put it into a small
plastic enclosure. Well, can you tell the time? It is exactly 16:13:21. |
