Scope Clock - An Oscilloscope Cathode Ray Tube Displaying the Time

I cannot remember where I first saw this type of clock. A Google search will quickly locate sites that provide design hints and vendors who sell components. My clock is based on an Atmel microcontroller, an already flashed version of which can be purchased from Jan Wüsten, where you can also obtain PC boards, transformers, tubes, or kits for building the complete clock. I ordered the kit, which came with very comprehensive instructions on how to assemble and adjust the clock.
The CRT is from my junk box. It soon turned out that this particular CRT was extremely sensitive to the earth's magnetic field.
I treated myself to an enclose made of mahagony, which meant a lot of work for my two CNC mills. Plus quite a bit of dust, including all that the shop vac failed to collect...
