Having developed a taste for unusual clocks, I planned my next project: A clock with a fancy clock face and hands controlled by stepper motors.
Suitable stepper motors are available from Pollin. I opted for ELV motor controllers.
Another member of the German CNC forum ("CNC Ecke") wrote the software and designed the PCB layout. This allowed me to concentrate on making the mechanical components and on the assembly: motor mounts, levers for the photo sensors, clock hands, and parts for the enclosure.
