Description:
While browsing library books, I found the idea for this engine in Martin
Werdich's und Kuno Kübler's text "Stirling-Maschinen. Grundlagen - Technik
- Anwendung" ["Stirling Engines: Function - Technology - Use"]
(Ökobuch-Verlag Staufen, 7th edition, 1999; ISBN: 3-922964-35-4),
a new edition of which has meanwhile become available. In the 7th edition,
the engine was presented as a marine model engine. Because many details could
not be identified in the drawings, I had to reinvent the gear from scratch. The
displacer is an adaptation of the design proven in my previous models. The
gearbox case was filed from stock and then milled in a vertical drilling machine.
The power cylinder consists of a trimmed medical all-glass syringe. All parts
were mounted and sealed with O-rings. The flywheel is an original spare part for
the Wilesco D16 steam engine.
