Description:
According to the Opitec model engine, I made a few engine parts as a base
for a student's project work at our secondary school. While construction such a
stirling engine the students can use and practice several technologies of metal
working. Sawing, filing and drilling are known to them, but such technologies as
thread cutting or even gluing metals enable them to enlarge their knowledge,
proficiency and skills substantially. The presentation of the finished engine
and the description of its construction process as well as the explanation of
its function have imparted to the project a complex and interdisciplinary
character. But the most important result is that the self-made engine really
runs!
